Peplink FusionHub - Specifications

This page describes the main provisioning choices and customer-facing parameters for the Peplink FusionHub SDWAN Gateway. The VNF runs as a virtual device with one primary network device and an optional MPLS‑VPN interface; details on flavors and software versions are shown below.

The available VM sizes are shown below. Choose the flavor that matches your expected throughput and resource needs.

In dual deployments you may select a flavor for each virtual device where the platform UI offers per-device sizing.

Interfaces​

The diagram above shows the simplified customer topology: a public Internet node with a platform-assigned Public IPv4 address attached to the Internet interface (#1). Both the Internet interface (#1) and the optional MPLS‑VPN interface (#2) connect to the single Peplink FusionHub virtual device.

Common interface notes:

  • The Public IPv4 address for the Internet interface is a platform-generated output. Customers typically allocate or reserve a public IP in the platform UI before configuring the Internet interface.
  • The MPLS‑VPN interface accepts a list of VPN entries when you need MPLS connectivity. BGP-related fields are available per interface but are optional.

#1 - Internet Interface​

Role: Internet connectivity (public).

  • What you provide: usually none. The public IPv4 address is allocated by the platform and presented as an output.
  • What the platform provides: a Public IPv4 address assigned to this interface (platform-generated output). If the console requires an IP allocation step, reserve a public IPv4 before configuring the interface.

#2 - MPLS-VPN interface (optional)​

Role: Connects the VNF to MPLS‑VPN networks when required.

  • Configure a VPN list containing one or more VPN entries when you need MPLS connectivity. The list supports 1 to 99 entries.
  • Each VPN entry includes a VPN Name (alphanumeric, pattern [a-zA-Z0-9-_]* ) and a VPN role. VPN role values:
    • any-to-any
    • client
    • server
  • BGP is optional on this interface. When available, the UI exposes Enable BGP (boolean) and AS prepend (integer 1–6) fields. When BGP is not enabled, no BGP-specific configuration is applied through this setting.

Software device versions​

Below are the software image versions available for Peplink FusionHub on the platform.

  • 8.5.1

Supported image tokens include the FusionHub image such as fusionhub_sfcn-8.5.1s045-build5258; select the exact image token shown in the platform UI when creating the VM.

Virtual device parameters​

Key VM-level parameters to provide during provisioning:

  • VM name: a hostname used to identify the virtual device. Provide a valid name (max length 22, pattern [a-zA-Z0-9-]*).
  • VM image: choose the FusionHub image from the list presented in the UI (for example, fusionhub_sfcn-8.5.1s045-build5258).
  • VM flavor: select one of the supported flavors (see the Flavors table).
  • VM AS number: optional AS number for BGP (range 1 to 4294967295). Provide this only if prompted by the UI for BGP peering.

Service specific parameters​

Service parameters are service-level values passed to the VM at provisioning time (they are not interface IP addresses or platform outputs). For this VNF the platform supports the following optional parameters:

  • Admin password: an optional administrator password that, if provided, is included in the cloud-init template to set the device admin password at provisioning time. Provide this only if you want the device admin password configured automatically.
  • License key: an optional vendor license key that the cloud-init template will pass to the FusionHub VM if provided. Manage vendor licenses directly with Peplink and supply the license key here if required by your deployment.

Both parameters are optional and may be provided through the platform UI during the Create flow when the form exposes them.

Platform-generated outputs​

  • Public IPv4 address: the Public IPv4 shown for the Internet interface is a platform-generated output. It is not a customer-provided interface parameter.

Licence​

Only Bring Your Own Licence (BYOL) type is supported for Fortinet SD-WAN. You need to purchase your software licence with Fortinet sales.

Security group​

No default security group configured for Fortinet VNE model.
